The Institute for Management of State Assets and Partnerships (IGAPE) and the Angolan Ministry of Finance are promoting, on Wednesday, July 28, a meeting with Portuguese investors, with the aim of introducing the Privatization Program (ProPriv) set by the government.
The roadshow with national investors will be the first of five meetings held by IGPAE and Finance with international investors. The other countries on the agenda are the United States of America, Germany, the United Kingdom and China. Wednesday’s meeting will include interventions by Finance Minister, Vera Davis de Sousa, and IGAPE CEO, Augusto Kalikimala, among others.
“During the various meetings, relevant information and clarifications will be provided on the assets of the various sectors to be privatized under ProPriv,” IGAPE confirms in a statement.
This measure, according to the same organization, aims to “create mechanisms to improve the promotion of the program with the international community, in order to contribute to attracting reference investors for privatization processes.”
As of January of this year, IGAPE had already sold 33 assets listed on ProPriv, operations that allowed 433 million euros to flow in. This program studies the privatization of 195 companies, 32 of which are classified as national reference companies.
These companies include Correios de Angola, Angola Telecom, the National Insurance Company of Angola (ENSA), the National Diamond Company of Angola (Endiama), as well as holdings in operator Unitel, Mota-Engil Angola, and Banco Económico (BES Angola).
