Distribution of a new consignment containing 24,142 doses of vaccines against Covid-19 to 102 municipalities in Alagoas by the state government has begun, through the state health department (Sesau). Immunization agents CoronaVac and Pfizer arrived in Alagoas on Thursday (8) and early Friday (9), dispatched by the Department of Health (MS).
The National Immunization Program in Alagoas (PNI/AL) has specified that 6,190 doses of Coronavac and 17,952 of Pfizer will be delivered so that municipal health secretariats (SMSs) will use immunobiology as first doses and to resume immunization of pregnant and postpartum women. The cities that received the largest number of doses from this last batch were Maceió (7122), Arabiraca (1938), Río Largo (666), Palmira dos Ondios (624) and União dos Palmares (516).
Vaccines are packaged at the temperature recommended by the manufacturers, with CoranaVac between 2 and 8°C and Pfizer doses frozen and kept at between -25 and -15°C. Immunization agents are available to municipalities at the State Centers for Immunodeficiency Storage and Distribution, located in Maceió and Arabiraca.
Vaccine doses and supplies can only be withdrawn after municipalities have requested the Strategic Input Information System (SIES). At Central Maceió, scheduling must be done by email: [email protected]; At Central de Arapiraca, by email: [email protected].
