.: Influenza Vaccine: Piracicaba will provide immunization to all residents from Monday 07/12 12

All people 6 months of age or older will be able to get a flu shot (influenza/H1N1) starting Monday, 12/07, while supplies continue in Piracicaba. Town Hall, through the Municipal Health Administration (SMS), will expand the collection envisaged in this year’s campaign based on guidelines from the state, in line with the Ministry of Health. A vaccinator will be available in all health units, Monday through Friday (weekdays), from 8 am.

To receive the vaccine, a person must bring a photo identification document. To vaccinate children, it is also necessary to show a vaccination card.

All units will deliver the vaccine from 8 am

The expansion of the group envisaged in the campaign this year is due to lower demand for the immunizing agent across the country. It was no different in Piracicaba. According to epidemiological surveillance (EV), as of 01/07, the last data passed, only 49.7% of priority groups with an estimated population received the vaccine. The campaign goal is to reach 90% vaccination coverage.

The influenza vaccination campaign (influenza/H1N1) aims to reduce complications, hospitalizations and deaths from influenza virus infection in the target population for vaccination, as well as to prevent consequences for health services, reduce disease burden, and reduce symptoms that could be confused with Covid-19.

COVID-19 This year’s influenza vaccination campaign coincides with the Covid-19 vaccination campaign. The Ministry of Health advises residents to prioritize a vaccine against Covid-19. The minimum interval between the two vaccinations should be 14 days.
