The Meirelles Health Center, in Fortaleza, will undergo a renovation and immediately operate the state’s Pediatric Specialties Center, beginning August 2 this year. According to the Ceará government, the software and services will be moved to other places in the capital to ensure the assistance provided to users. It is scheduled to open in April 2022.
The state’s pediatric specialty center will have a new patient profile, with intermediate and high-complexity care for children and adolescents. The equipment will be a reference unit of the Ministry of Health of Ceará (CISA).
There will be teams working in pediatric outpatient clinics in general and in specialized fields, such as neurology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, pulmonology, allergy, nephrology, gynecology, dermatology, otolaryngology, and others.
The devices will also perform laboratory and imaging tests, as well as services in non-medical professional fields, such as nursing, nutrition, social work, psychology, physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. The space will have a capacity of over ten thousand monthly consultations and access to the assistance service will be scheduled by the state regulation center.

Transfer software
Also according to the state government, the program to help children with cow’s milk protein allergy (APLV) will be temporarily transferred to the Professor Antonio de Albuquerque Sosa Filho Training Center of the Department of Education (Seduc). The unit is located on Rua Adolfo Moreira de Carvalho in the Edson Queiroz district of Fortaleza.
The men’s healthcare center will be permanently moved to Jose Martinano de Alensar and Maternity Hospital (HMJMA), from Sesa.
The orthopedic health care program will also be reallocated. Treatment and monitoring will be carried out in the structure of the Municipal Health Administration (SMS) not determined and announced soon.
The vaccination room at Meirelles Health Center will be temporarily closed. To get vaccinations from seasonal campaigns, such as influenza, or permanent vaccinations, residents must seek out a basic municipal health unit.
