hThere are new symptoms associated with the infection of the new coronavirus which refer to the delta variant – B.1.617.2 – which was discovered in India. According to data from the UK Symptom Checking app, headache, runny nose and sore throat are the main signs of having this variant.
According to the researchers, the similarities with cold symptoms may be the reason for the increased infection. Hence, they are calling for more testing.

According to the researcher, some of the original symptoms of the infection are now less common. More specifically, fever remains very common, but loss of smell no longer appears among the top 10 symptoms on the application.
