suy de Carvalho, 94, was this Saturday, the fifth, the great guest of the “Conta-me” programme. The famous Portuguese actor had an interview with Manuel Luis Jocha, reviewing his life, work and career.
Among the topics covered, the actor recalled what was once his pain: the way his exit from TVI was presented.
He begins by saying, “I hurt a little.”
“I couldn’t find a reason to turn me away without saying thank you‘, unfortunately, referring to it being TVI after being questioned directly by Manuel Luis Josha.
“I’m talking about TVI. I was so sad that he didn’t tell me anything. It’s over, it’s over… They sent me home, at the end of 14 years, it was a bit painful‘, he continues, realizing that this is a rude way for radio to separate him in his opinion.
Despite the wounding of the past, the actor guarantees: “I have great respect for the entire TVI team … there was someone I did not like or did not remember [de lhe dizer obrigada]”.
One of his great pains was the fact that he was banned from working in the National Theater due to his retirement.
“They really sent me away, they didn’t want me to be there,” he shot, realizing he could introduce himself in this room only if he was working for an outside company.
On the stage’s “farewell,” Ruy de Carvalho explains: “If I had to die on stage, I would die. I don’t have a special preference. Now, I really like being on stage. I’m very happy on stage.”
