From Wednesday, June 9, the flow of travelers between France and abroad will reopen according to methods that vary according to the health status of countries classified by color (green, orange and red) and vaccination, according to a document entitled “Strategy for reopening borders,” a French government source said.
The French government announced today the conditions for opening up to tourism from June 9, specifying that vaccinated people from countries outside the European Union on its “green” list will also be exempt from testing.
This “green” list includes Australia, South Korea and Israel.
The Minister of State for Tourism, Jean-Baptiste Lemoine, explained in an interview with the BFMTV television channel that those without vaccination documents must submit a PCR or antigen test performed within 72 hours before boarding the plane.
For those coming from countries on the “orange” list, which covers a large part of the world, people who have already obtained a certificate of immunization with any of the vaccines authorized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), will have to submit a negative PCR in less than 72 hours.
Travelers from the United Kingdom and the United States, whether vaccinated or not, will be required to undergo a polymerase chain reaction or antigen test, according to a document released by the French government today.
In the case of countries on the “red” list, that is, where the virus is circulating and there are variables considered to be of concern, a reason for urgency will be necessary even if the person has been vaccinated.
The red list includes India, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, South Africa, Colombia, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey and Pakistan.
