In Spain, teachers and students go to school wearing a skirt, in solidarity with a boy who was expelled last November for wearing exactly a skirt, she says New York Post.
The movement began in November, when math teacher Jose Peñas decided to wear a skirt in the name of gender equality, after one of his students was expelled and advised to go to a psychiatrist.
“Clothes have no gender” is the slogan used by the protagonists of this show in support.
On social networks, this teacher also left a message where he says that when he was a student at the same institution, he also suffered persecution because of his sexual orientation.
Other teachers have also joined the cause. In a school in Valladolid, it was decreed that May was the month to wear the skirt every day.
“A school that learns with respect, diversity, co-education and tolerance,” a Valladolid school teacher said in April. “Dress as you like! We have joined the ‘Clothes Have No Gender’ campaign.”
Through this current, a national movement was created in Spain that focused primarily on tolerance. Since then, the school that expelled the student has implemented a gender equality system.
