During the Digital Monster Hunter event On Wednesday (26), Capcom released a new trailer for Monster Hunter 2: Wings of Ruin Stories (Transforms). The video shows more details about the history of the game, which includes mysterious lights that infuriate monsters in the world. Additionally, new information about the game has been revealed, including the ability to hatch Monsties eggs and customize your skills.
The latest trailer for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin gave fans the first preview of the outrageous light that was suddenly starting to plague monsters around the world. The trailer also revealed new details regarding the protagonist’s relationship with Razewing Ratha, the whereabouts of his grandfather, the legendary Monster Rider Red, and some of the characters returning from Monster Hunter Stories. Although the relationship between Angry Rays and Rathalos’ global disappearance and the birth of Razewing Ratha is unclear, players can count on the help of Battle Buddy Avinia and Monstie Frostfang, who have returned from Monster Hunter Stories to unravel the mystery.
In addition to providing tantalizing story details for fans to enjoy, the digital Mayo event also provided a first-hand look at how Monster Riders gathered and strengthened their Monstie mates. To collect new Monstie eggs, players will have to explore the depths of any Monster Dens they encounter on the field. Monster dens come in all shapes and sizes, with rare pits containing eggs and elusive monsters that have the ability to have hard-to-find genes. After returning to the stables with new eggs, players can hatch them to discover their new Monstie and use the Rite of Channeling feature to transfer unique genes from one Monstie to another. By combining genes from the same element or attack type, players can create an incredibly specialized team of monsters or mix genes from different monsters to create a more varied Monstie, capable of using abilities from all attack types and items.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin comes to switch on July 9. Pre-order is now open at National Online Store.
