TACOMA, Washington – Governor Jay Inslee said Washington state should be able to fully reopen its doors on or before June 30, if more than 70% of 16-year-olds receive at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
“The Department of Health is confident that we will reach the vaccination goal of 70%,” said Julie Grawert, a spokeswoman for the Washington State Department of Health (DOH), on Monday.

“We encourage people to keep getting vaccinated and help their friends and loved ones do the same,” Grawert said.
Bob Labor, 72, received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine on Monday at the Tacoma Pierce County Health Department clinic in Lakewood.
Although he qualified for the vaccine months ago, Laborer said that because he works full time as a driver and is away from home for weeks, he feels he has not had time to get vaccinated.
The full vaccination on Monday took about 30 minutes. He suggested to order: take the vaccine.
“I know people who are not feeling well now too, so think about it. It won’t hurt you. Trust the system,” Labour said.
