This certification model, adapted from the ACSA reference, carried out by the Health Quality Department of the Directorate General of Health (DGS), is the model that best adapts to the criteria defined in the National Strategy for Quality in Health, being a standardized and recognized model.
This award comes as a result of the evaluation audit conducted by the General Directorate of Public Security in May 2024, and the official and popular recognition of this health unit’s compliance with quality and safety standards in providing health care to citizens, in line with the best national and international practices and standards, the memo says.
The certification of this health centre is valid for five years. However, during this period, the DGS will mandatorily carry out a follow-up assessment visit, to ensure the level of the certification initially obtained and to allow for the continued identification of new areas for improvement in clinical and organisational quality.
The success of this certification is the result of the commitment, professionalism and dedication of all professionals, with the aim of improving the management of their health center in terms of clinical areas, relations with users and the community, organizational and procedural culture, and professional development. The statement concludes with the continuous training of staff, consolidating the culture of quality and safety intended for the entire SESARAM, EPERAM, thus strengthening the confidence of citizens and professionals in the institution.
