As part of the celebrations in honor of the patron saint N.ª Senhora da Saúde, the project of the new parish health center in Arrives will be presented, which fills a gap in the parish, which does not have sufficient equipment and the ability to bring people together to carry out pastoral activities.
The new building will be located next to the church and will be a modern structure, adaptable to different uses.
“It will have several spaces, including 4 catechism rooms, a living room/lecture hall, a kitchen, a pantry, storage areas and a parking lot that can also be converted into another hall,” explains parish priest Marco Luciano.
The new parish center project was designed by architect Manuel Diniz, author of the Moscavid Pastoral Center, a 2017 American Architecture Award winner in the Architectural Design and Institutional Architecture categories.
“This is a person with great experience, who managed to create a structure in Moscavid that did not harm the local temple, and here too, the architect was interested in integrating into the landscape, creating a garden area and a completely new composition of the surroundings. The church is more attractive for conviviality and reflection,” added the parish priest of Nossa Senhora da Saúde.
The works, with a budget of around 400,000 euros, are expected to start in early 2026 and will be possible to proceed through the profitability of the parish heritage.
The presentation of the new parish centre project is part of the Nossa Senhora da Saúde celebrations programme, which takes place from August 12 to 20.
