More than 30 students from the State Education Network received their passports for an exchange experience in the United Kingdom last Monday (22). Scheduled to depart at the end of August, they are part of a group of 100 students taking part in the Conexão Mundo program traveling to England, Scotland and Wales.
Out of the total three-month stay abroad, 40 young people will study in foreign regular high schools and 60 will take professional training courses related to their respective areas of vocational education.
Arthur Domingos, 16, a 2nd grade high school student at Escola Cidadã Integral Técnica (Ecit) Erenice Cavalcante Fidelis, says he studied for more than a month for the program’s entrance exam. “This is my first time abroad. I am very excited and nervous about it, but it will be an incredible experience”, says the young man, who is traveling with four other schoolmates who have been recognized by the initiative.
“This trip will open up my perspective, the way I look at the world, people, and make me more open to learning new things,” she assesses. In total, the 2024/2025 edition of Conexão Mundo will send 400 students to English, Spanish and Chinese speaking countries.
