The Mira Municipal Council, in partnership with the Local Health Unit (ULS) of Coimbra, is offering the new Safe Summer Care Program, with a mobile nursing station in Praia de Mira, located next to the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, in an open area from today (13) until August 31.
This program aims to improve the assistance provided to tourists and vacationers during the bathing season, and provides an immediate and adequate response to any health needs. The mobile nursing service will allow many people to solve minor health problems on site, without having to travel to another level of care. In cases where travel is required, patients will be referred by the existing nursing team.
“Reinforcing healthcare teams and setting up a mobile nursing station in Praia de Mira are crucial measures to ensure the well-being of everyone who visits us during the summer, and we are committed to providing accessible, efficient healthcare services that are able to respond immediately to any eventuality,” said Artur Fresco, Mayor of Mira Municipal Council.
The presence of this mobile station will allow rapid intervention in emergency and health care situations, enhancing confidence and peace of mind for holidaymakers. This initiative represents another step in the ongoing collaboration between Mira Municipality and Coimbra ULS, demonstrating a strong commitment to public health and the well-being of the local community.
The mobile nursing station will operate Monday through Friday from 2pm to 7pm, and on weekends and holidays from 10am to 7pm.
