After nearly a month, the Superbike World Championships are back in action this weekend with the Donington Park round. Superbike, Supersport and Women’s World Championships are to be held.
In WSBK, in the main category, Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW) is coming off a dominant round at Misano, where he won all three races and leads the championship. Two-time champion Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Ducati) is third with 24 points, 21 points ahead of Niccolo Pulega (Aruba.it Ducati).
This will be the home round of the British riders, so the male riders will be Alex Lowes (Kawasaki), Sam Lowes (Elf Mark VDS/Ducati), Jonathan Rea (Bata Promethean Yamaha) or Scott Redding (Bonovo Action BMW). Follow from close and potential candidates to shine.
For the WSSP, Adrián Huertas (Aruba.it Ducati) leads the standings with 11 points ahead of Yari Montella (Barney Spark Racing Team/Ducati), who took two wins in the previous round. Stefano Manzi (Batta Yamaha Ten Gate) is third with 22 points. With 50 points for victory, fourth place Marcel Schröter (MV Augusta) can overtake the current leader at this round.
For the second round in history, the WorldWCR advances to Donington Park. Maria Herrera (Clint Forward) dominated Misano with a double win, leading Sara Sanchez (511 Terra&Vita Racing Team) and Ana Carrasco (Evan Brothers Racing Yamaha Team) by 14 points. Beatriz Neila (Ampito Pata Prometeon Yamaha) and Roberta Ponzani (Yamaha Motoxracing) are both 26 points behind the leader.
More excitement awaits spectators at the Donington Park round of WSBK, WSSP and WorldWCR. As usual, all the action in motorcycle sports will follow.
