Braga announced their seventh signing of the new season on Tuesday afternoon. Coming from Malaga – for €1.8 million – Guerreros have signed Roberto Fernandez, the 22-year-old Spanish striker.
The striker trained between Cordoba and Malaga, and was loaned to the Barcelona B team between 2022 and 2023. Last season, upon his return to Malaga, he played 39 games, scoring 20 goals and providing one assist. As such, Roberto Fernandez played a fundamental role in the promotion of this historic club to the second division.
The striker’s official status was a matter of time, because even before the playoffs played by Malaga, the young Spaniard had said “yes” to Antonio Salvador, whom he had met. Thus, the visit of the president of “Guerreros” was decisive for Roberto Fernández to prioritize Sp.
This transfer, on a permanent basis, could also generate an additional €1.2 million for Malaga’s coffers, depending on the objectives, plus 10 percent of capital gains from future transfers.
The contract runs until June 2029 and the striker is protected by a release clause of €45m.
As reported by Sp. Braga, Roberto Fernandes has already taken part in pre-season training on Tuesday morning.
Thus, Daniel Sousa has seven reinforcements. In addition to this Spanish striker, Gabriel Martinez (Girona) arrived from the same country. Bartlomiej, Duic, Ouazzani, Robson Bambo, Thiago Helguera and João Marques (Estoril) also signed for the “Guerreros” team.
