Dutch driver Max Verstappen won the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal on Sunday night. Red Bull driver Verstappen started from second position, with George Russell first placeBut after overtaking on lap 21/70 he never relinquished the lead. He won by more than three seconds over second-place McLaren’s Lando Norris.
It was a race marked by rain which caused slippery surfaces as well as some skidding. Sargent was the first to be affected – the first to abandon the race after it went out of control. He hit the back end and had to go out. Later, Sainz, Albon, Pérez and Monaco Grand Prix winner Charles Leclerc also left early.
Lando Norris and George Russell closed the stage. The fastest lap in the race was achieved by Lewis Hamilton, who came in fourth place.
Max Verstappen continues to lead the World Championship standings. Charles Leclerc came in second place and Lando Norris in third place. The Dutchman won the title in the past three seasons.
