“With the Gemini app on your phone, you can write, talk, or add a photo for all kinds of help: You can take a photo of a flat tire and ask for instructions on how to change it, or get help writing a thank you note,” Google says in a statement.
According to the tech company, this is “an important first step in building a true AI assistant – one that is conversational, multimodal, and helpful.”
To access Gemini on Android, simply download the app or ‘sign in’ [entrar com as credenciais] Through Google Assistant.
“On iOS, we will be providing access to Gemini directly from the Google app in the coming weeks,” the technology said.

This Thursday, the company introduced an updated version of NotebookLM, now using Gemini 1.5 Pro, to more than 200 countries and regions around the world, including Portugal.
This is a dedicated AI assistant that allows you to interact with uploaded documents.
“You can upload different types of sources – research notes, interview transcripts, company documents – and NotebookLM instantly becomes an expert on the material,” says the technology.
In this way, NotebookLM “now supports fonts like Google Slides and Web URL, as well as Google Doc, PDF, and text files” and “in-text citations now take you directly to supporting passages in your sources so you can easily check the AI’s answer or dig deeper into the original text.”
