The US asset management company succeeds Suning
After failing to repay a €395 million loan, Inter officially changed owners on Wednesday and are now owned by Oaktree, an American asset management company.
The change was actually expected, because, according to the Italian press, Suning, the former owner of the Nerazzurri, was not expected to pay the amount in question, which Oaktree had specifically made available in order to stabilize the club’s financial situation.
In a statement published by Gazzetta dello Sport, Oaktree confirmed that she is aware of the “great responsibility” that awaits her.
“As new owners, we are aware of our great responsibility to society and to Inter’s historic legacy. We are committed to the Nerazzurri’s long-term success and believe that our ambitions join those of passionate fans in Italy and around the world.” Can be read.
Remember, Inter have enjoyed a successful season in Serie A, winning the Serie A title with 93 points so far – and could go as high as 96.
