Expectations indicate that work should progress next fall.
a Fafe City Council View expansion project Health Center From the city to professionals in the field. The project presentation session was held in the hall of the Health Center and was attended by Professor Dr. Pedro Cunha, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Local Health Unit of Alto Ave, and President of the City Council of Fave, Antero Barbosa.
The mayor said that “there was a lot of prior dialogue conducted by the technical bodies in the municipality,” and therefore, it was possible to prepare “a project in stages in cooperation with the local health unit.” Antero Barbosa said the plan should start next fall with a global investment of 6.5 million euros, with “works expected to be completed by June 2026.”
The main objective of the expansion project is to establish a Joint Assistance Resource Unit, as well as redesign and increase the response capacity of the Public Health Unit (USP). Furthermore, the project aims to expand the existing Community Family Health Care Unit. All this with the aim of promoting better healthcare provision for all users, aided by increased energy efficiency through natural light management, further optimizing spaces and using more energy efficient materials.
The Fafa Health Center expansion proposal includes the construction of an underground parking lot with a capacity of 73 spaces. It also consists of three floors where all units will be distributed over a multi-purpose space. The city council highlights that the joint effort “will allow the municipality of Fafe to provide a health infrastructure with a greater and better ability to respond and provide care to all those who need these health services.”
