The federal government will create 28 new basic health units (UBSs) in 21 municipalities in Amazonas state. The action will draw on resources from the New Health PAC.
To receive the procedure, the government has established country selection criteria with:
- Increased social and economic vulnerability of the municipality;
- Greater care gaps in primary care;
- Sites with low Family Health Strategy coverage rates;
- Commitment to the reference architectural project.

The initiative aims to increase the number of family health (eSF), oral health (eSB), multidisciplinary (eMulti) and community health agent (ACS) teams. The total investment amounts to R$ 4.2 billion.
