Portugal is competing to reach the European Championship against Ireland, Croatia and Germany
National coach Joao Santos called up 20 players for the elite qualifying round for the European Under-17 Championship.
Portugal organizes the group, and will face Ireland (20), Croatia (23) and Germany (26), and the matches will be held in Braga, Vizela and Famalicao, respectively.
Sporting Lisbon, with 7 players, “dominates” the team, followed by Benfica, with 4 players. Check the full list:
A goal keeper: Miguel Gouveia (Sporting) and Diogo Ferreira (Benfica).
Defenses: Rafael Motta (Sporting), Rui Silva and Duarte Soares (Benfica), Martim Cunha (Porto), Afonso Souza and Thiago Ferreira (Braga).
Mid: Eduardo Felissimo, Joao Simões and Denilson (Sporting), Rodrigo Moura (Porto), Joao Truvesco (Spain Braga), David Daiber (Bayern), Afonso Meireles (Guimarães).
advanced: Giovanni Cuenda and Gabriel Silva (Sporting), Gustavo Ferreira (Benfica), Cardoso Varela (Porto), Afonso Vieira (Guimarães).
The 20 players called up will train at the Cidade do Futebol between the 11th and the 17th of this month, and the delegation will then head to Penafiel, where they will stay until the 26th.
