The farmers are on the verge of despair, but the Investigação CM discovered that there is surplus water being wasted into the sea in the Aljazur region. There are also irrigation systems that work even during rain. More than one billion cubic meters of water will have already been wasted.

If the water stored in the Algarve region is well managed, it will be possible to save about 15 million cubic meters of water. This saving will be sufficient to avoid emergency cuts that will be applied.
