As Android 14 continues to be distributed by manufacturers, Google has now decided to take another step into the future with Android 15. It has revealed the first beta version of this system and wants to start revealing all its new features now. This came as a surprise, but in reality, this news had already been talked about.
Google's Android 15 has arrived
Every year we have a new version of Android, with many new features and improvements from Google. These products appear early in the year and are developed until the end of the summer, with several trial releases to evaluate the quality of what is produced.
Work on the next version begins now, as expected. Google foot The first beta version of Android 15, so that all developers can start preparing their applications and test what has already been developed. The new features in this version are great and very interesting.

Privacy protection mode on Android
Android 15 brings Android AD services to extension level 10, integrating the latest version of the Privacy Sandbox into Android. This is part of the work to develop new technologies that improve user privacy and enable personalized and effective advertising experiences for mobile applications.
Partial screen sharing
Supports partial screen sharing so users can share or record only the app window instead of the entire device screen.
Camera controls within the app
Android 15 adds new extensions for more control over camera hardware and algorithms on compatible devices:
- Low-light improvements give developers the ability to control camera display brightness.
- Advanced flash intensity adjustments, allowing precise control of flash intensity in SINGLE and TORCH modes while taking photos.
Virtual MIDI Devices 2.0
Android 13 added support for connecting to MIDI 2.0 devices via USB, which communicate using Universal MIDI Packets (UMP). Android 15 expands UMP support for virtual MIDI applications, allowing synthesizer applications to control synthesizer applications as a virtual MIDI 2.0 device.
Performance and quality
Android remains focused on helping developers improve the quality of their apps. Much of this focus is on tools and libraries, including Jetpack Compose, Android Studio, and more.
Dynamic performance
Android 15 continues our investment in the Android Dynamic Performance Framework (ADPF), a set of APIs that allow high-performance games and apps to interact more directly with the thermal and power systems of Android devices.
Long road to the final version
Google also revealed its plans regarding the versions it plans to launch in the future. These showcase several proposals for new releases, which will culminate in the arrival of Android 15 at the end of the summer. Of course, at the moment everything is limited to Google's Pixel smartphones.
Now begins a long work by Google programmers to create the final version of Android 15. This will change a lot and bring a lot of new features throughout 2024, which will culminate in the final version of this system. Eventually, it will be open to manufacturers and then accessible via their smartphones.
