The portfolio corresponds to over fifty solar parks distributed across the UK. These are assets subject to energy management.
Schroders Greencoat will acquire a portfolio of 513.5 MW of 53 solar parks located in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
According to a report by specialist renewable energy manager Schroders Capital, it is the largest operational solar portfolio traded in the UK to date, owned by Toucan Energy. It is worth around 700 million pounds (820 million euros, at current exchange rates).
With a total capacity of 1.35 GWp of solar assets under management in the UK, Schroders Greencoat promises to benefit the Toucan Energy portfolio. At the same time, he believes the asset management team can take advantage of the portfolio's “reliable generation of clean electricity and support the long-term financial sustainability of the assets.”
Lee Moscovitch, a partner at Schroders Greencoat, described the move as a “major achievement”, highlighting the “scale, complexity and number of interested parties involved in the transaction”. The objective now is to “provide reliable returns to our investors through these assets,” according to reports cited in the same report.
