sAt least six Syrian Kurdish-led soldiers were killed Monday in a drone attack on the largest US military base in Syria.
The Syrian Democratic Forces revealed that their base was bombed in the early hours of the day, and accused the Iranian-backed militias of launching drones from an area controlled by Syrian forces.
According to the BBC, there are no records of casualties from the US military, which has about 800 soldiers in Syria fighting ISIS.
It was the second incident recorded this weekend since the US attacked Iranian- and Iraqi-backed groups in Syria in response to a deadly drone attack on a military base in Jordan.
It is noteworthy that three American soldiers were killed and “many” were injured on January 28, in a drone attack in Jordan. These were the first American deaths in months of attacks on American forces across the Middle East by Iranian-backed militias.
The US President stressed at the time that the United States “will hold all officials accountable at the appropriate time and in the chosen manner.”
