The Board of Directors of the Local Health Unit of Braga (ULS de Braga) took office on Monday, following the official appointment of the Executive Directorate of the National Health Service (DE-SNS).
The executive body consists of seven members: Domingos Souza assumes the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors, Paula Vaz Márquez is appointed Clinical Director of Hospital Healthcare, Rui Macedo is Clinical Director of the Primary Health Care Area, Gonzalo Alves assumes the role of Director of Nursing, and Américo Afonso, Fernando Pereira and Helga Lima start Their roles as executive members of ULS in Braga.
“Today begins a new chapter full of challenges and ambition in the health sector in Braga. The completion of the Local Health Unit project in Braga will bring public services closer to the user, who will receive centralized responses from a single interlocutor, serving different levels of care. “Our focus will also be on enhancing proximity to professionals, ensuring the best conditions for them to carry out their duties,” says Domingos Souza, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ULS de Braga.
The Braga Local Health Unit now has more than 4,000 specialists and will serve 317,766 users from six municipalities of the Braga region, namely Amares, Braga, Povoa do Lanhoso, Terras de Boro, Vieira do Minho and Vila Verde.
