'We are what we eat': What happens when twins swap diets and lifestyles?
The new Netflix documentary answers this question with a simple test: one brother eats meat and the other eats only vegetables.
One of Netflix's latest bets is We Are What We Eat: A Study with Twins. In four episodes, the team will conduct experiments with siblings who swap diets and lifestyles. The documentary premiered on Monday, January 1 on the streaming platform, where all seasons have been made available.
Over the course of eight weeks, the researchers used this analysis to understand the effects that diet and lifestyle changes can have on the human body, as well as the specific impact of certain foods and habits on the body. The results of this unprecedented study promise to provide valuable conclusions about the diverse effects they can have on human health.
One test the scientists conducted was to have one twin base his diet entirely on meat and dairy products, while the other should eat only foods based exclusively on vegetables.
By analyzing the twins' reactions and adaptation to the proposed changes, the researchers aim to gain a deeper understanding of the biological and metabolic mechanisms involved.
“We Are What We Eat” co-stars with James Cameron, director of “Titanic” and “Avatar,” as producer. Susie Amis Cameron, Mark Monroe and Joseph Peace served on this production as screenwriters.
