Apple warns of the dangers of using unofficial chargers in the Apple Watch

Apple tends to place a lot of emphasis on providing maximum security to users for their equipment. More than focusing on the software, it also wants to ensure maximum longevity and protection for it. Thus, new information has now been revealed warning of the dangers of using unofficial chargers in the Apple Watch.

It was one of his habits supporting document Apple has now warned Apple Watch users of a new danger.  The Cupertino giant focused on the use of unofficial chargers and aimed to show users how they can influence their smartwatches.
On its page, the company recommends charging the Apple Watch only using chargers manufactured by the company.  In addition, the brand also recommends chargers that have received Apple MFi certification and use the Made for Apple Watch seal.
The company warned that if users use a counterfeit or uncertified charger, slow charging, frequent clicking and decreased battery life may occur.  In the same document, Apple also teaches how to identify chargers manufactured by the brand and MFi-certified chargers.








Examples of chargers manufactured by the brand

The original charging connectors made by the brand are white in colour.  Some Apple Watch chargers have text and regulatory markings on the charging cable.  Chargers not made by the company may have different colors, text, or other designs on the surface of the charging connector.

Apple has provided instructions for users to verify the manufacturer of their charger with Mac and macOS.  To identify external chargers that are MFi certified, just look at the packaging of the charger itself.  Certified Apple Watch chargers feature the Made for Apple Watch badge on their packaging.

Connect the Apple Watch charging cable to your Mac.
On a Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings and click General in the sidebar.
Click About on the right.
Click System Report.
Click on USB.
Choose your watch charger to see the details.

This information is generally not new, but it is now focused on the Apple Watch.  The use of unofficial and third-party chargers has a negative impact and the creator of the Apple Watch wants to remind users of this to avoid problems later.
