After a long and controversial wait, The Day Before became available on Steam on December 7, and less than a week later the production company announced that it was closing its doors because it did not have the money to pay off its debts.
In a statement posted on social media, Fntastic announced that it was closing its doors due to The Day Before failing financially and having no funds to continue operating. All money earned from the initial sales of the game will be used to pay off debts to partners.
The developer says they gave everything they had to developing The Day Before and wanted to reach its full potential through updates, but unfortunately they don’t have the funds to continue working on the game or even the activity.
The future of the game The Day Before is uncertain and although the servers remain active, they cannot guarantee that it will remain that way for much longer.
Fntastic regrets the disappointing expectations and says they were overly ambitious, and unaware of the demands of developing the game.
