League 2: In Fabio Pereira’s debut, Marítimo defeats Lanc Villaverdines

Maritimo defeated Lanc Villaversense (4-0) in the 13th round of the Second League, in a match that revealed the qualitative differences between the two teams.

With Fabio Pereira making his debut as coach of the team Madeira blackthe Funchal-born coach saw his team take the lead (20 minutes in) with a brilliant goal from Higor Platini.

Vila Verde had difficulty controlling the game and allowed Lucas Rodriguez to increase the lead for the home team (48′) – the Brazilian striker completed an excellent attacking move for his team.

Maritimo’s victory was practically confirmed when Platini (58 minutes) scored twice in the match (and scored his fourth goal of the season) from a penalty kick.
