A few days ago, Intel launched its 14th generation processors called Raptor Lake Refresh. As the name suggests, the models are a redesigned version of the previous generation, hence many users have questioned the similarities between the versions. However, new Intel APO (Application Optimization) technology has come to prove that there are indeed relevant improvements, and brings with it an increase of up to 31% in gaming performance.
The results were published in A intel reddit By a user who owns a Core i7-14700K and i9-14900K. In Metro Exodus, the average increased from 279 fps to 339 fps, which represents an increase of approximately 24%. In the other Rainbow Six Siege game tested, the average jumped from 659 fps to 867 fps, an increase of 31%.
Moreover, it was possible to note another interesting feature from testing in Rainbow Six Siege. With the i9-14900K, processor usage was down 1%, but GPU usage, the RTX 4090, was up 16% and VRAM usage was up 5%.
Intel has already run tests with the same titles, but in the results released by the company, the performance gains in Rainbow Six: Siege and Metro Exodus will be 13% and 16%, respectively, values that are close to half of what appears to be reality.
