a Jean Piaget Higher School of Health in Vila Nova de Gaia On October 26, it celebrates its twentieth anniversary. The Faculty of Health is integrated with the Higher School of Sport and Education (ESDE) and the Gaia Campus of the Piaget Institute.
During the past 20 years, the Faculty of Health has received and trained hundreds of health professionals, making a fundamental contribution to education, health and research, as well as to the quality of life and well-being of the local community. The school is today considered a reference in training health professionals.
Currently, Escola Superior de Saúde offers a training offer that includes degrees in Nursing, Physiotherapy and Acupuncture and a Master’s degree in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing.
The College also offers more than twenty postgraduate courses in health-related or related fields, such as human resource management, quality management, gerontology and geriatrics, among others, as well as several higher professional technical courses CTeSP – short-term education courses Higher Education for four semesters, with the last semesters organized as training. CTeSP is taught within the scope of polytechnic education and is classified as Level 5 courses by the National Qualifications Framework.
Celebration programme
The Jean Piaget Institute notes that the twentieth anniversary celebration program aims to bring together the entire academic community, and is an opportunity to thank all those who have cooperated, in some way, and come into contact with the school.
On an intense day of celebration, starting at 12 noon, two round tables, a lecture (on the application of artificial intelligence to health), lunch with the academic community, a port of honour, attended by Tuna Académica, and a sunset, organized by the Student Union, will be planned.
The Piaget Institute also notes that confirmed guests include nurses union president Ana Rita Cavaco; President of the Physical Therapists Union, Antonio Lopez; Founder of the Piaget Institute, Antonio Oliveira Cruz; Local government representatives; Former school principals and many alumni.
