The Ministry of Health informs that on Saturday (7/10) it took the necessary measures to dismiss, at his request, the Director of the Department of Prevention and Health Promotion of the Ministry, who took full responsibility for the unacceptable incident that occurred during the first period of the Mobilization Meeting for Health Promotion in Brazil (prose).
The Ministry of Health confirms that this isolated incident does not reflect the Ministry’s policy or the objectives of the discussion on health promotion that took place at the meeting. This event, linked to the Primary Health Care Secretariat, aims to support the implementation and participatory management of the National Health Promotion Policy through the exchange of experiences between managers and workers from different states, while devoting moments to cultural diversity.
To prevent similar situations from occurring again, the Ministry immediately established an event department, linked to the Minister’s Office, which will evaluate whether the proposed engagements are in line with the conduct and institutional mission of the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry of Health reiterates its commitment to population health and the promotion of a unified health system, through a comprehensive vision and respect for diversity and democracy.
