Telos also reiterated Warsaw’s request for Ukraine to withdraw its complaint to the World Trade Organization.Relations between Kiev and Warsaw became tense after Poland, along with Hungary and Slovakia, decided to extend the embargo to protect farmers from increasing imports of Ukrainian grain and food.
“The Ukrainian Minister of Agriculture stated that he will speak with the Ministry of Economy to consider withdrawing the complaint,” Telos added.
Warsaw is in the final stages of talks with Vilnius on organizing the transit of Ukrainian grain to Lithuanian ports.
The Polish government, which has been one of Ukraine’s staunchest allies since the Russian invasion in February, is under pressure from the far right to adopt a tougher stance towards Kiev ahead of the October 15 election.
