Great race in Singapore, definitely the most exciting of the season. Until now we had absolute dominance by Red Bull, but in this race we witnessed a fierce battle between Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes.
It’s true that Carlos Sainz – who won the second victory of his career – was always in front, but unlike other Grand Prix events, there was no room for yawning here. George Russell – who left the front row of the grid – was always on Ferrari’s heels and had a very safe race… until the last lap, when he crashed into the barriers.
We had two safety cars on the track, one of them virtual, and that was crucial in the end. In the final round, Ferrari did not pit and Mercedes entered again needing to gain ground to get back into positions, but there was Lando Norris at the front.
The McLaren driver put himself in second place and fought back, against everything and everyone. After Russell’s misfortune, it ended up being Lewis Hamilton who finished on the podium.
Verstappen? The two-time world champion came from thirteenth, and in the first safety car he finished second, but understeered and ended up finishing the race in fifth place.
