The search for knowledge transcends borders, and the story of Tais Borges Peixoto, a 5th year student at the Faculty of Law of São Bernardo (FDSBC), is an inspiring example of this. Thais recently took part in a human rights course in the United Kingdom, where she had the opportunity to deepen her knowledge of international law and become intimately familiar with the British legal system.
The three-week course focused on the study of European Convention on Human Rights, British Constitutional Law, United Kingdom Human Rights Act and case law. In addition to classes, the program also provided a cultural exchange that allowed Thais to get to know other cities in the UK, further enriching his international experience.
Thais highlights the importance of her training at the FTSBC for the success of her course in the United Kingdom: “Law school was essential for me to develop a course of study that is more confident. I can say that the dedication of all of this. The need to understand the protection of human rights from another jurisdiction. The years have given me the skills.”
For undergraduates looking for similar opportunities, Thaís has a message: “I would tell my undergraduates to take advantage of the resources offered by FDSBC. Research groups and supervision are a plus of my degree. Other challenges and, importantly, more for an international program. There are many great educational opportunities in other countries. There are, and they are much closer than we imagine.”
