Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the launch date for PlayStation Portal, a remote control for anyone who wants to free up their main TV and continue playing PlayStation 5.
As the company revealed, you can now reserve your unit through PlayStation Direct And start waiting for the launch on November 15, 2023. Sony also learns that from September 29, it will be possible to reserve the PlayStation Porta at select retailers.
Portugal was one of the first countries selected for PlayStation Portal reservations and Sony describes the device as follows:
“The PlayStation Portal Remote Launcher gives you access to games installed on your PS5 console over your home Wi-Fi network, allowing you to jump into games on the stunning 8-inch LCD display with 1080p resolution at 60fps, without the need for a TV.
Portal can be used on another Wi-Fi network outside the home, but Sony advises that “for the best gaming experience, a high-speed connection of at least 15 Mbps is recommended.”
If you want to use PlayStation Portal outside of the home, you need to remember that “the PS5 console must be connected to a broadband internet network, either fully turned on or in sleep mode, and must be paired with a PlayStation Portal remote player.”
