a Google Just announced three new products, available in Portugal, which apply artificial intelligence and machine learning to environmental data to help companies and cities make a climate impact at scale and adapt to a changing world.
One of the tools is Solar APIwhich uses mapping and computing resources to provide detailed data on the solar potential of roofs on more than 320 million buildings in 40 countries, including Portugal.
To get this information, Google trained an AI model to extract 3D information about the roof geometry from aerial photos, along with details about trees and shadows. In addition, the application takes into consideration some factors, namely the historical weather patterns in the area, energy cost and much more.
Turn the tool PI air quality It makes more information about air quality available to more people, and displays reliable air quality data, pollution maps, and pollutant details for more than 100 countries around the world, including our territories. This product, like others, is added to the Google Maps application and evaluates and organizes multiple times per hour terabyte of data, incl Government monitoring stations, meteorological data, sensors, and satellites.
This process provides healthcare, automotive, and transportation companies the ability to provide accurate and timely air quality information to users, wherever they are.
Also new Pollen API Displays current pollen information for the most common allergens in over 65 countries, including Portugal. The tool provides local pollen count data, heat map views, detailed information on allergen plants, and practical tips for allergy sufferers to reduce exposure. To get this information, you use Google machine learning To locate specific pollen production plants. Besides local wind patterns, it can calculate seasonality and the daily amount of pollen and predict how pollen will spread.
