DrAfter a store in Nova SBE, in Carcavelos, another university space has the innovative Pingo Doce store in Greater Lisbon. At the Instituto Superior Técnico, near Alameda, you can now buy many products and pay through the app, without having to stand in any line.
In addition to the Pingo Doce Express, at Técnico, there is a new restaurant concept with an emphasis on digital technology. “This concept is inspired by the digital and technological world in which we combine existing nature in the decor of the space to provide a true ‘dining experience’ for those who visit us,” explains Oscar Costa, Director of Meal Solutions Pingo Duce.

In this restaurant you can choose one of two ways: or go to the counter and pay exclusively with a bank card; Or choose one of the kiosks, where payment is also made by card only.
The list includes more traditional suggestions that change as the days go by. In the counter circuit, a system has been implemented on the board that they call RFID, which is linked to the order and quickly identifies what has been ordered so that it takes less time to pay.
“We look to the future and will continue to offer an offer that adapts to the trends and needs of our customers”, continues Oscar Costa.
The restaurant at the Instituto Superior Técnico has 180 seats, 82 of which are on the terrace. To complement the food court is the Pingo Doce Express, which is more focused on meals, with ready-to-eat options and some complements, such as juices, drinks, side dishes and snacks.
Entry and payment are made through the application. It is the customer himself who scans the products he collects. In the end, all you have to do is hand over your cell phone and leave, without having to go through any box as is the norm in other places.
