In a ceremony in Santarem School of Health auditorium, recent nursing graduates received the badge and read in unison the Commitment of Honor symbolizing the transition from students to professionals.
The Escola Superior de Saúde de Santarém (ESSS) trained 79 new nurses in the last academic year who had completed the 34th Nursing Course – Cycle 1. In a ceremony in the school hall, the recent graduates received the badge, the symbol of nursing, and read in unison the Commitment of Honor symbolizing the transition from students to professionals.
The course’s merit awards, the Albergaria Martins Award and the Ernesto da Fonseca Award, have also been presented. When this school was established in 1973, Dr. Albergaria Martins and nurse Ernesto da Fonseca were among its founders. said Helia Dias, principal of the school.
The Vice President of the Santarem Chamber, Joao Teixeira Leite, congratulated the new nurses, recognizing their work, talent, effort and dedication in completing the course, and said that “Working in the field of health is a gesture of nobility and heroism and we must always pay tribute to the professionals who invest their lives in this mission.”
