Facebook updates the Video tab with expanded editing tools and video discovery by trends and comments integrated with Instagram

In this revamp, Facebook Watch is changing its name and the section is simply called “Video,” with access to all the capabilities of these formats — including Reels, long-form videos, and Live content.

Facebook’s new Video tab brings three great new features to users of the social network: expanded editing tools, video discovery by trends and comments integrated with Instagram.

Tools make it easy to edit materials, including text, audio, and music, into a unified canvas with more features for adding or removing clips, flipping segments, and adding effects.
Videos can also be discovered in Facebook’s revamped Instagram-style section with Reels, long-form, live videos based on hashtags and related topics. Suggestions are curated for each user through a combination of human curation and machine learning.
Integration of the “Video” tab with Instagram with the ability to comment on Instagram Reels directly from the Facebook app. Now, you no longer need to switch between social networks to post comments on a reel that originated on the other platform.
Facebook’s novelties seem to be Meta’s response to follow the development and competition from other video sharing platforms, such as Tik Tokoffering resources that expand connectivity and application integration in the company’s ecosystem.
