While imports accounted for 11.5% of the total purchases for the Northeast region and 1.3% of the total for the whole country in the backlog for the year.
Among the Brazilian states, Ceará ranks 17th in terms of exports and 15th in terms of imports.

São Gonçalo do Amarante accounted for 21.6% of the state’s imports, with a decrease of 54.2% and total purchases of US$282.20 million. The municipality also had mineral fuels as a major requirement, especially from the United States.
