The Pró-Família (Family Department) begins on Monday (12), in Blumenau, the influenza vaccination campaign for the students of the Pró-Elderly programme. The vaccination takes place at the headquarters of the secretariat and ends on June 15th.
The campaign aims to expand the vaccination offering to the city’s elderly. So far, of the more than 49,000 registered seniors, only 47.8% of this target audience in Blumenau have been vaccinated.
“The elderly are one of the population groups most vulnerable to influenza flu and for this reason it is important to vaccinate them to ensure protection against the H1N1 virus. Therefore, we decided to bring vaccinators to the Pró-Família students, with the aim of encouraging vaccination,” highlights Deputy Mayor of Blumenau, Maria Regina Soar, who coordinates the campaign with the respective secretariats.
