A religious walk that started at the Mother Church of Povoa de Varzim took thousands of the faithful on a Sunday morning pilgrimage to the shrine of Nossa Senhora da Said in Londos.
Promises, prayers and religious chants accompanied the waste of Senhora da Said, carried on the shoulders of fishermen, along the eight kilometers of the seventy-fifth pilgrimage, in an act of faith unparalleled in the province. The pilgrimage also included the participation of the archpriestry of Beauvois de Varzim and Vila du Conde.
In the Sanctuary of Senhora da Saúde, the Eucharist was celebrated and presided over by the Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Braga, Dr. Jorge Ortega. The city council was represented at the religious ceremony by Social Cohesion Adviser, Andrea Silva.
During the afternoon, the Sisters of the Religious Congregation of the Alliance of Santa Maria recited the Rosary to Our Lady. As is customary, this was followed by the Adoration and Blessing of the Blessed Sacrament, ending with a moving farewell ceremony to Our Lady of Health.
The organization of the 75th Journey to Our Lady of Health was, as usual, in charge of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Health, the Diocese of São Miguel de Londos, the Diocese of Our Lady of Conceicao da Matriz, and the Diocese of Vila do. Conde / Beauvois de Varzim.
