RIO – The Military Police inaugurated, this Friday (5) morning, the new Health Supplies Supply Center (CAbIS) of the General Directorate of Health. The 4,100 square meter site, located in Rua Bila, in São Cristóvão, will collect the entire input stock used by the sanitary units.
The Secretary of the General Secretariat of the Military Police in Rio, Colonel Luis Henrique Marinho Perez, commented during the opening ceremony that the new space represents the realization of a dream for the company. “Last year, we were able to implement temporary hiring of health professionals to reduce the shortage of physicians, nursing technicians and many other specialties. Now, we are focused on mobilizing supplies and making room in our health units for service expansion,” he said.
The CAbIS program will benefit both DGS directors and military police officers and their dependents who use the institution’s health system via FUSPOM (Military Police Health Fund). In addition, it represents an increase in service capacity in all health units. In the Central Military Police Hospital alone, 11 rooms will be vacated.
During 2022 and the first four months of 2023, the institution’s health units provided more than 180,000 visits to outpatient clinics. In the same period, 4,729 surgeries were performed.
