Max Holloway is subject to another test on Saturday, when he faces former featherweight champion big man Arnold Allen.
The duo will face off in the main event of UFC Fight Night in Kansas City, with Holloway looking to rebound from his third loss to Aleksandr Volkanovski – the man who knocked him out – as Britain’s Allen seeks a 13th straight victory.
With the exception of Volkanovski, Holloway has been flawless against every featherweight he has fought since 2013, including Jose Aldo (twice), Frankie Edgar, Brian Ortega and current interim champion Yair Rodriguez.
Meanwhile, Allen has a 12-fight winning streak — including 10 in the UFC — and outlasted Calvin Kattar in his final fight, putting pressure on the American until Kattar was injured. Allen is team mates with welterweight champion Leon Edwards and aims to follow in his footsteps to become the third British UFC titleholder.
