Microsoft has announced the launch of an AI image generator in the Edge browser. The tool is an extension of Bing’s Image Creator, but is fully integrated into the browser to allow creating art from text.
The service will use the latest model based on DALL-E, OpenAI’s art creation tool. It is the first – and so far the only – browser to provide its own image generator, without relying on access to websites.
Simply open the Bing graphic sidebar, located at the top right of Edge, to find the feature. The icon is a landscape drawing with a mountain, a sun, and a brush painting directly below.
How to use Image Creator directly in Edge?
When you click on it, a text box will open in which the person must type the required commands. There are four different image options to choose from that will yield similar results, but with different elements.
The pop-up tutorial below shows how the user should type in their commands. The ideal format is to use an adjective, noun, verb, and modal, always in that order, to make the AI easier to understand. The tool only supports English, so you may need to use the translator if you don’t speak the foreign language well.

Remember that first use will require Image Creator to be enabled. You will need to click the plus (+) symbol and activate the toggle to start creating. You will also need to agree to the terms of use offered by Microsoft.
Once you’re done with the creation part, all you have to do is save one of the four resulting images (or all of them, if you prefer) to your computer and add them wherever you want. The generated format is JPG with a size of 1024 x 1024.

You will have 100 credits to use to create images, which work to prioritize production. If it runs out, you can still use the service, but it may take longer to produce images.
According to Microsoft, the novelty should allow almost instantaneous generation of images, art or graphics for posts on social networks or for PowerPoint presentations.
As of now, Edge imaging device only works on Windows PC. You need to have the latest version of your browser installed, so you’ll need to update it if it’s out of date.
Since it is a beta version, Microsoft warns of possible bugs and difficult to understand commands. Keep this in mind when producing your art, so you can avoid stress.
