Nintendo Joy-Cons controllers are particularly vulnerable when it comes to the issue of stick drift. This issue of seeing the analog sticks register input even when not moved by the player has long been a topic of conversation with controllers of all kinds, but of late Japanese game giant Nintendo has been at the forefront of the issue. It has pledged to help those in trouble in the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland.
As mentioned in a new update Nintendo support pageWe are informed that:
“Nintendo prides itself on creating high-quality, durable products and continues to improve them. Therefore, until further notice, Nintendo offers consumers who purchased their respective products in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Syndrome will be repaired free of charge through official Nintendo repair centers.”
The pledge goes a step further, and Nintendo will repair Joy-Cons past warranty.
“This applies even if the syndrome is caused by wear and tear and the 24-month manufacturer’s warranty provided by Nintendo has expired.”
If you’ve dealt with Rod Drift issues and plan to take Nintendo up on this offer, you can Go here To book a repair.
