Dengue efforts continue on the UFLA campus through Friday (3/10). Involved!
From March 7 to 10, a campaign against dengue fever is being carried out on the campus of the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA). Meeting point in front of the Department of Medicine (DME), departs at 2pm. In order to control the spread of the dengue mosquito, Aedes aegypti, surveys are being carried out at various locations on campus, with identification and elimination of potential outbreaks of the vector insect. All members of the academic community are welcome to participate.
“Along with the mutirão, health education actions will be implemented to alert the community about the increase in the number of cases requiring attention,” highlights the coordinator of the action, Professor Josiana Muñiz de Paiva Barcante, from the Faculty of Health Sciences (FCS/UFLA). The teacher also stresses the importance of helping everyone, whether they are participating in a mutirão, or acting wherever they are in the UFLA. “They can set aside 10 minutes a day to clean their workplace. If you spot any focus or potential focus, reach out directly from @nupebufla or @nep.ufla,” he highlights.
The action will be carried out in a coordinated manner by UFLA’s Nucleus for Biomedical Research (Nupeb), and will involve groups such as Minuto da Saúde, Nucleus for Studies in Parasitology (NEP), Microbial Ecology and Bioinformatics Laboratory (MebLab), Endemic Disease Sector of the Quality Directorate and Environment (DQMA), Peti Biopar and the DIPS Sector of the UFLA Department of Medicine.
